About Us

Backed by generations of automotive expertise and proud local ownership in Waihi

The Story Behind B.A.M & NR & SL Curle Ltd

Our practical Roberts Street workshop has been the absolute backbone of Waihi’s automotive repairs since 1976. Established a half-century ago, Barry Armstrong Motors (B.A.M) has built an enduring legacy of straight-up, reliable advice and premium customer service that generations of local drivers have come to rely on.

In 2002, Neil and Sandy Curle took the reins of this historic local garage, trading proudly under the banner of NR & SL Curle Ltd. For two decades, Neil and Sandy have poured their hearts into expanding the workshop’s capabilities while keeping that classic, honest, family-run pub-style reliability alive. When you bring your vehicle to B.A.M, you are dealing directly with the owners who care about your safety and your budget.
